Second phase of project Mission: Kenya is finished

In August 2019, the second phase of the construction project, co-financed between Mission: Kenya ‘s funding campaign, was initiated, along with the participating schools and with contributions from private foundations.

As in the previous phase, at this stage, the demolition and construction of 5 new classrooms with the same constructive characteristics has been carried out, in this case with the participation only of volunteers from Arquitectos Técnicos Sin Fronteras. In this case, in addition, the electrical installation modules have been fitted and a drainage system for the collection of rainwater has been built, vegetation has been planted at the boundary between the plot of the School and a local road, which will become a green wall to protect the school from dust and noise. With the completion of the second phase, the first objective is achieved, to renew the classrooms of the Kithunthi school with a capacity for 300 students in total, which will receive the first students in the second week of September.
